Biden Admits to Big Lie: He Wasn’t Arrested When Going to Jailed Nelson Mandela

President Joe “Empty Shelves” Biden inadvertently admitted to having told a big lie multiple times: namely, that he got arrested in apartheid South Africa back in 1977 when he went to see the jailed legendary democracy activist Nelson Mandela.

Biden’s Fake Public Stories Feature Prominently in Recent Years

Besides his constant, clearly senility-driven public gaffes, 79-year-old Sleepy Joe is known for telling embellished or plainly deceitful stories from his life and political career.

One of his most famous fake stories, which he already told in public seven or eight times, is the one about his Amtrak conductor friend praising him for taking the train from Delaware to Washington, DC, for decades.

The otherwise cute story, according to Biden, occurred at a time when the conductor, who was indeed an acquaintance of his, retired and passed away.

Not unlike the Amtrak conductor story, Empty Shelves Joe has been telling another fake story, which portrays him in a heroic light: namely, that back in 1977, already a member of the Senate from Delaware, Biden was on a visit to South Africa.

At the time, South African anti-apartheid activist and freedom fighter Nelson Mandela was a political prisoner. Sleepy Joe claimed he got arrested by the apartheid regime when he went to visit Mandela in jail.

The South African, global anti-apartheid figure was imprisoned between 1964 and 1982. After the end of the apartheid regime in 1990, he became the first democratically elected president of the Republic of South Africa.

Mandela’s imprisonment was on Robben Island, which is off the coast of Cape Town, in the South Atlantic Ocean. Although in Biden’s stories, he “was jailed” in the district of Soweto, in the city of Johannesburg, nearly 1,000 miles inland and northeast.

As part of his Mandela story, Biden has been claiming when the future South African president visited the United States in 1990, he thanked Biden for trying to come in 1977 and getting nabbed because of that.

‘I Wasn’t Arrested or Anything’

Joe Biden revealed his often-told lie about getting arrested to meet Nelson Mandela on Friday, at the White House, when he welcomed Cyril Ramaphosa, South Africa’s current president.

He has a reputation for being heavily implicated in corruption and other murky dealings.

Sleepy Joe didn’t miss the chance to once again tell his Nelson Mandela story – except, this time, he seemed to be telling the truth – namely, that he never got arrested by the former apartheid regime in South Africa.

Biden thus practically admitted he had been lying every time. He told Ramaphosa that having the honor of meeting Nelson Mandela was among “the great moments” of his political career, as cited by The Daily Mail.

Also in February 2020, The New York Times exposed the story as false. It noted in his official autobiography, Biden actually never mentioned getting arrested for trying to meet Nelson Mandela in South Africa back in 1977.
