Biden Unleashes New Attacks Against DeSantis

In Florida, many Americans are happy with the leadership of Gov. Ron DeSantis. Under the current governor’s tenure, Florida has become an economic powerhouse, drawing in more and more residents from other states who are seeking a better life.

The Florida Republican Party also made massive gains since DeSantis first came into office four years prior.

While Democrats previously had a 100,000+ voter registration advantage over Republicans in the Sunshine State, tables have turned. Now, it’s Republicans with a roughly 300,000 voter registration advantage over Florida Democrats.

Earlier this week, Biden was in Florida to try to save Democratic candidates Charlie Crist and Val Demings from losing their gubernatorial and Senate elections. In doing this, Biden went after DeSantis, as reported by The Hill.

The Latest From Biden on DeSantis

In the Florida governor’s current election against Crist, the governor has a double-digit advantage that’s only strengthened with time. On top of that, DeSantis has raised far more money than Crist.

Nevertheless, Biden took to ripping the Florida governor as “Trump incarnate.” Biden also lamented over DeSantis’ ways of “denying” and “dealing” without getting into further details.

Later, the president said Florida should be on the “right” side of history by electing Crist as their governor. This is not Biden’s first time going after DeSantis and it certainly won’t be the last.

However, his remarks do show a sort of tone-deaf lack of connection with where voters in Florida are.

In Florida, DeSantis is hailed by voters for protecting parental rights, protecting the rights of businesses, individuals, and standing up against attempts to insert an overzealous government in the lives of Floridians.

Biden coming into Florida and saying that residents should elect a Democratic governor who will take the state in the opposite direction is madness. There is a reason why Crist is behind DeSantis to the tune of double-digits while having much less cash on hand.

In Florida, early voting has already commenced. In under one week, DeSantis will very likely be reelected and by a much larger margin than last time.

At the end of the day, Crist’s policies and beliefs aren’t in line with what most Floridians want in the governor’s mansion. Having Biden come to Florida to rally for the Democratic candidate may actually do him more harm than good.

If the president believes that Florida is going to flip into a blue state, he’d do well to think again.
