Earlier this week, the January 6 committee decided to issue a subpoena against Donald Trump. The committee claims that Trump was the orchestrator of the Capitol riots last year and now they require his testimony.
Following this subpoena, the former president released a statement, slamming the committee as baseless and politically biased. Now, there are speculations amongst the general public about whether or not Trump will actually appear before the committee.
Naturally, all of this is being picked up by mainstream media news outlets, such as MSNBC.
As reported by Breitbart News, MSNBC is now running with the theory that Trump is too fearful of Rep. Liz Cheney, the vice chair of the January 6 committee, to appear and testify.
A Closer Look at MSNBC’s Running Theory
Jonathan Lemire, a host for MSNBC, stated this week that he believes Trump is facing more “peril” than he ever has before.
Later, the host claimed that no one expects the former president to actually show up and give testimony before the January 6 committee, in spite of the subpoena.

This is when Lemire opined a huge factor that will keep Trump from showing up is fear of Cheney. The Wyoming congresswoman has been a fierce and ceaseless critic of Trump, even after it cost her another term in office.
At this time, Americans will have to wait and see whether or not the former president actually testifies before the committee.
Everyday Americans Weigh In
Between the renewed proceedings of the January 6 committee and MSNBC’s latest claims, everyday folks are sharing their thoughts.
Many supporters of the former president took issue with MSNBC arguing that Trump is scared of Cheney. Because of MSNBC’s notoriously left-wing leanings, the platform was largely slammed as fake news by Americans who believe Trump has nothing to fear.
Meanwhile, opponents of the former president have largely rallied behind the talking points of MSNBC. Others are calling for the January 6 committee to employ even stronger measures to try getting Trump to testify about the Capitol riots.

At the rate things are going, it remains to be seen what happens. Some theories suggest that with the midterm elections coming up, Trump may try to run out the clock by litigating the subpoena in the hopes that the GOP takes back the House.
If Republicans regain control of the House of Representatives, it’s widely expected that the January 6 committee will be discontinued. GOP lawmakers have also expressed that various investigations will be launched into Biden and his leadership in the White House thus far.
What do you make of MSNBC’s allegation that Trump is fearful of Liz Cheney and therefore won’t show up to testify before the January 6 committee? In the comments area, feel free to sound off.
