New York Times Lied About Number of Kids Hospitalized from COVID

Day after day, we see left-wing media publish fake news and statistics to scare people into taking the vaccine. In the most recent fear-mongering tactics, the New York Times lied that 900,000 kids were hospitalized because of COVID. However, the number is false.

New York Times reporter Apoorva Mandavilli told readers 900,000 kids had been hospitalized from COVID since the pandemic, with 520 dying. The media outlet has since corrected the post to show only 63,000 kids were hospitalized because of the virus.

Interestingly enough, the article was amplified by a lot of verified Twitter accounts. Mandavilli also promoted the tweet to reach more audiences.

Why Did She Lie?

The logical thing to do is to ask why Apoorva Mandavilli lied in the first place. What was her end goal for exaggerating the numbers by 837,000? We can only conclude it is to get parents to get their kids vaccinated.

The fake news was released shortly after Pfizer and BioNTech announced they submitted an emergency request to the FDA to authorize the two-dose COVID-19 vaccine for kids ages 5-11. Such fake news (if left to fly) would have been instrumental in the ongoing vaccine and mask debates in schools.

Besides, it could have been passed as an ‘honest mistake’ if the numbers were close. However, an 837,000 difference shows it was intentional because the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reported at least 63,000 kids have been hospitalized since August 2020 because of COVID.

Are Vaccines Safe For Kids?

We are in no position to say if vaccines are safe for kids or not. However, Sweden and Denmark have stopped the administering of the Moderna vaccine to kids under 18.

On Wednesday, July 6th, the Swedish health agency said it stopped giving the COVID vaccine to people born after 1991. It said the reason for this is because of possible cardiovascular side effects.

The agency said there is an increase in myocarditis and pericarditis among kids and young adults who have taken the vaccine. These are conditions that cause the inflammation of the heart or its lining. The Swedish health agency also added that the risk of being affected by these is minimal.

Besides, a spokesperson for Moderna also said the company was aware of the risks, as they are typically mild cases. The spokesperson further added that individuals usually recover within short periods.

As confirmed by Moderna itself, the vaccine for kids has side effects that cannot be ignored. In light of this, it is crucial the FDA ascertains beyond all doubts that the Pfizer and BioNTech vaccines are safe for kids. After that, no kid should be mandated to take them.

In the meantime, the New York Times and other left-wing papers should desist from pushing fake news about COVID. Americans are now wiser, and they’ll choose to do the right thing without being pressured by the lies and mandates.
