The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (LDS) is commonly known as “Mormon.” The Christian religious movement started in the 1820s as part of a revival led by Joseph Smith.
Smith claimed to have been led by an angel of God to find ancient golden plates buried by an extinct Israelite tribe that lived in America before Christ.
Smith was ultimately murdered by an anti-Mormon mob in Carthage, Illinois in 1844. A large portion of his followers went across the US. They settled in the West of the country, particularly Utah, led by Brigham Young (who one biographer nicknamed “American Moses.”)
Mormonism is one of the oldest faiths in America and has deep roots in US history and culture. Sadly, intolerance continues and anti-Mormon hate is growing, as a recent shameful event at an Oregon Ducks game demonstrates.
“F— Mormons!”
One of the best traditions in football games is the massive participation of the fans. Usually, enthusiastic fans sing chants several times during the match.
Many songs and chants are to motivate your team or offend the opponent. This time, it was no different, but it took on a decidedly offensive nature.
The game was taking place between the BYU Cougars and Oregon Ducks at Autzen Stadium in Eugene, Oregon.
Ducks fans began chanting the hateful words “f–k Mormons!” repeatedly during the game, offending many who were present and watching on TV.
Spencer Cox, the governor of Utah, quickly spoke on his Twitter page about the incident. Cox said the game was marked by religious discrimination that was unacceptable.
Brigham Young University (BYU) has several locations including its main campus in Utah.
There are more than 16 million members of the LDS church, including 6.5 million in the United States. They include people of all races, backgrounds, and walks of life from the Philippines to Africa and Europe.

University of Oregon Apologizes
After the incident, the University of Oregon made an apology on Sunday. They said they are ashamed and apologize fully for the “hateful” chants some fans were engaging in.
They said it goes against the values of their university. In any case, the Ducks won the game and they also have the moral high ground here.
False accusations against BYU of racism from BYU fans were all over the mainstream media several weeks ago, but this is getting almost no coverage.
There’s a reason for that: Mormons tend to be conservative, support traditional marriage, and are not useful for the leftist media’s sickening globalist narrative.
For that reason, hate against Mormons is given a pass and even cheered on, including via television programs that demonize the church and try to falsely present it as hateful and backward.

The Bottom Line
Mormons are an integral part of America and hate against them won’t be tolerated. Ducks fans should be ashamed.
